The summer sun is beating down on this,

My town, it’s sweltering.

And I’m staying in.

The air is baking me alive,

And all I wanna do is dive

Into my best friends pool.

The weather hasn’t stopped for quite sometime now.

I’m finding it hard to concentrate, on anything.

And as the clock keeps ticking,

My summer heat is winning

To pull me under.

I would rather spend these days with you

But unfortunately, this heat’s stopping me from moving.

The 14th’s here and my plans have fallen through.

My chances of dehydration are improving.

So forgive me for not taking you out tonight.

My summer valentine’s has beaten me,

And it’s not alright.

I’m stuck inside avoiding rays,

My skin ablaze,

From last I went outside.

My air con kicks into overdrive,

Somehow I think I will survive,

If I just stay in front of it.

Australia doesn’t make it easy to keep living.
